The Fathom MkV is a high-end mechanical rebreather built with state-of-the-art materials and designed for supreme reliability, simplicity, and ease of use. I’ve been diving it exclusively since 2023.

Unlike most other units, the Fathom MkV can be used in an on-board bailout configuration (a.k.a. ‘DIR config’) from the first day of training.

• CCR tech diver
  45 m, trimix diluent/bailout, one bailout deco gas
  ≈5 days, min. 8 hours in-water
• both combined
  ≈7 days, min. 12 hours in-water
• crossover from another unit
  ≈3 days, min. 4 hours in-water
• unit familiarization and tryout session
  ≈half day
